Grants Awarded
The Powell Family Foundation awarded its first grant in January 2023. Since then we have awarded grants to 245 individuals and 58 organisations. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with the many talented and dedicated people who are passionate about encouraging and supporting children and young people with a vision impairment to achieve their potential.
For further information about our grant giving and to read some inspirational case studies about the organisations, children and young people we have supported, please refer to our 2024 Impact Report and our 2023 Impact Report.

Billy was diagnosed as sight impaired at a young age. His long-held ambition was to be a professional dog groomer and we were delighted to support this with a grant to attend a professional dog grooming school. Billy, now 19 years old, said, “Thanks to The Powell Family Foundation I have been lucky enough to go into the career I’ve dreamed of since I was 15 years old. I’ve learnt so much from this experience. I genuinely know I have a purpose in my life now and it’s all thanks to the support from TPFF. The gratitude I have is beyond words.”
TPFF have been pleased to fund the children and young people’s project at Sight for Surrey since 2023.
Clare Burgess, CEO, Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey said,
“The funding we received from The Powell Family Foundation has helped us put on a variety of hugely successful events and residential trips. The application process was simple and straight forward and the response was quick. Thank you!”
